Overall, we enjoyed our stay here. Only thing to consider is that you have to order a ride to and from town each time. Might become costly for some. But otherwise we enjoyed the stay and having a room steps from the pool was an added bonus. Breakfast buffet selection was limited but worked fine for us.
Casa Kalaw is a tricky one. We spent there almost 2 weeks some time ago. We cant say it was enjoayble time. Yes hotel looks nice, yes food at the restaurant is good, breakfast variety is satisfying but ... staff cant wake up guests in the middle of the night to offer them trips, they cant take out sewage (which is by the swimming pool) when people are swimming or sunbathing in the pool area, they cant charge you for broken glass shampoo containers (which are dangerous for you actually since you can cut yourself). All in all it was not worth the price. Maybe over the time things will get improved, but for this moment i would avoid this place.
Casa Kalaw was rebranded (renamed) and the hotel's new name is Isla Amara Resort..
Resort is a little off from town. Staff are friendly. Rooms are basic but comfortable. Note that the shuttle is a public one and not specific to hotel guests only. Pool could be cleaned or checked on more regularly during the day - we found a couple of huge dead bugs in it in the evening.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! The pool was a decent size and had shaded sun-loungers as well as sunny spots as well. The staff were friendly and accomodating. We had some issues with our door card pass but they were very helpful. The restaurant provided a great spread for the buffet breakfast. Rooms were kept clean and tidy, however a hand towel would have been handy! We had a room near some kind of generator which could be quite noisy, I'm sure you would be able to request a room away from this. All day happy hour!
