Thanks to Bob for a great stay. My fiancée and I came for two nights and loved it, such a beautiful island with a few things to explore. Great for a break to chill and switch off, the food is amazing and Bob's cocktails are legendary with local ingredients!
We spent an amazing time at Dryft. Where to start? The bungalows look impressive with a nice view of the beach, they have mosquito nets and a ceiling fan. The main hall is an impressive architectural build and you will definitely want to hang out on the second floor to chill and enjoy your island life. Bob and everyone else is super friendly, always ready to chat and make sure we were satisfied. There are some impressive views for snorkeling just in front of the main hall. Just ~100m off the beach, on the right side of the buoy (ask Bob). The shared pick up was very well organised, the driver was friendly and then the boat ride was short and just as pleasant. It is glamping so expect showers and bathrooms were "outdoors-y" if that makes sense, but you're not spending your vacation in the bathroom, are you? I want to thank Bob and Dryft for an unforgettable experience!
Excellent hotel with excellent location ,extremely clean & comfortable. Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed by the friendly reception staff/Bartender Bob ,Faith made our trip more exciting with her tips and advice about the island. Would definitely recommend this hotel to everyone ! It's a true example of great hospitality. Thank you again Dryft for going an exta mile service for your guests.
Unfortunately the place leaves a lot to be desired. On the positive side, the staff was friendly and the style of the huts and the whole place is quite unique. That said, the food was unimaginative and repetitive. Every dish was fish or chicken with rice, day in day, dinner and lunch, sometimes even breakfast. Also it’s quite overpriced. Basically, as this is the only option for food you have on the island, they charge the prices they want. Add to that the fact that it sometimes took them 60-90 minutes to get the food to the table after ordering, or they ran out of one of the two dishes on the menu after 2 of the 8 guests ordered it. This was really absurd sometimes. The mosquito nets around the beds barely fit and were full of holes, like big ones and plenty. The bamboo huts, despite the basic charm they aim for, could really be edit from just a simple wooden table or shelf or something so the floor isn’t the only option to lay out your things, particular since the floor will get wet when it rains. The huts are not totally waterproof. The beach is nice, it we warned that underwater it’s rocky coral bottom alle the way and very shallow. So unfortunately it’s not really a good place if you want to enjoy time in the water. Only 2 of the 4 showers really worked and of course not always. One of the toilets was covered in blood and not cleaned for days. Our private shuttle that we paid for, was not so private after all as we had to take staff along and barely fit in the car with our luggage barely hanging on to the roof by a rope while going on dirt roads for almost an hour. To be honest, this place could be great. It has a interesting location and very unique style. Immense potential! But staff and management are kind of ruining it. Updating this review, to state the fact that management has been in touch trying to remedy the situation a little and also explaining that they are in the ramp up for high season and hoping to iron out most of the wrinkles above.
I had a lovely stay of two nights at this magical place. The food had its price but was absolutely delicious! The staff had always a smile and was friendly with all the guests. Thank you andrea for feeling welcome! Its a really calm place to escape crazy el nido town. I loved it! Sure, the tents weren’t fancy but sleeping with the sounds of the waves was amazing. After two nights it was for my taste enough, manly because of all the sand in the bed😅
