There is a sitting area and some shops close by but, there are no signs to direct you and there is no obvious system to know if someone is going to pick you up. It does work in the end. I waited there but the van still went back into town anyway to pick people up.
The terminal is full of fans and tricycles and the waiting area is full of people. I wouldn’t recommend to come too early as it’s not needed nor it’s convenient. There are some shops, ATM and money exchange around.
Beware of overpriced tricycle drivers. Regular fare is around Php 25 - Php 30 per person just within the town proper.
Most of the terminal personnel were very helpful. In fact, they helped me trace one of my bags full of goodies that I left the night before. I just wish that this kindness is practiced by everyone. When I was leaving the place, I had several interactions with some staff who were rather cold and not helpful.
Buses and vans/shuttle (usually Toyota Hi-Ace) to and from Puerto Princesa come from this terminal. There are also motor tricycles to go to tourist spots/hotel accommodation. If they see you come from the terminal you will get terribly overpriced fare but a local told me that it is PhP10/head (my travel destination was Sitio Caalan which is near the town centre). I opted to hail a tricycle from the road which is just a few steps away from the terminal. It is really up to your haggling skills. There are also a lot of determined people trying to lure you to use their transport i.e. tricycle and van. For El Nido-PPS and VV, I chose Cherry Bus "Elite" because I think it is the most comfortable means to travel. They have lazy-boy-like seats, toilet and ample space for you. It is also fast (5.5hrs in the day and 5hrs at night) since it is the "Express" type and they don't pick up passengers along the road. They will only do 2 stops where you can eat lunch or buy food. I was able to sleep comfortably here and the driver was helpful and friendly. The only thing is it is limited as there are currently 2 buses and 2 trips/day (9am and 9pm). There is a booking desk in the terminal along with other tranport companies. Fare was PhP 650 one way (but according to the booking desk, there is an introductory promo offer if you book return as well-I am not certain about this). Another thing, there are nearby hotels and convenience stores outside. Facilities review: 1/5 stars
