My wife and I have very fond memories of our stay at Eco Hotel. Nice and helpful staff, perfect location, beautiful sunset, trips from the beach. The only downside is the slightly poor standard of the rooms for the price. However, the view from the room makes up for it. We will return there without hesitation in the future. Greetings to the staff ;)

There was no water in the barthroom almost every time I needed it. Water pump/s for the hotel are turned off on purpose every night, but I had to ask maintenance people to hear that, because front desk people always pretend this is unusual. After water is back on it will run rusty for a couple of minutes.
WiFi works, but has no internet access. Total joke. The data roaming (T-mobile) barely works in the area.
Bed bugs.
I got better hotels in El Nido for not even half the price.
Forget refunds unless you paid extra when you booked it.
Very, very bad experience.

In advance of our criticisms, it is worth saying that if your expectations are for a sunset and a bed to sleep on, and you can secure the sunset room on the SECOND floor, then your expectations will be met.
The issues that my partner and I faced ranged from inconveniences to the putrid and it was enough that led us to have to leave the resort to find another. This review will mirror many other reviews here so hopefully this helps inform.
The bad that we feel you should know:
-Room - There is not alot of room/space; there is a severe lack of storage for your belongings, toiletries (almost nothing in the bathroom) and no way to hang things.
-Bed sheets - We couldn't find comfort even when offered a different room (the upstairs sunset room) due to a stained bed cover and odour that came with it.
-Outlets - not alot and one did not work.
-Bathroom:
--Toilet - did not flush after one use.
--The smell that came from the bathroom was the final straw. It was sewage waste smell.
--The water pressure in the shower was non-existent.
-Breakfast included is not good. Options are few and quality is really poor (quality was low/salty/lacking flavor).
-The beach is NOT good for swimming but it is a good location for a few tours to depart. It's also a bit far to kayak to some of the beautiful beaches but my partner and I managed. Would recommend it if you are physically capable/fit. Otherwise depart kayaking from the town.
The reason for the delayed review (this happened in December) is that we discussed the issues with the general manager and he conceded that the conditions were poor and misadvertised and they would coordinate a refund for the days we did not use the accommodation. This is a sign of good faith but since then he has vanished and we feel it would be best to share the information in advance of the next big season for you to make an informed decision. There are better options and better prices along the beach.
Happy hunting!

Normally I don’t give negative reviews, but the only positive about this hotel is the location. You have amazing restaurants and cafes very close by as well as Corong Corong beach. This is where all our tours departed from (tours A & C).
Some of the negatives of room 25 include;
1. The toilet not flushing (on two seperate occasions).
2. Inconsistent hot water and water pressure from the shower.
3. Insects in the room. I woke up with lots of red bites on my arms and legs, which appeared to be from bed bugs and mosquitoes (also, there was no ice from the hotel, luckily, Blend & Grind Cafe were able to give me some ice to put on my bites!)
4. The room is tiny, and there is no kettle for tea/coffee.
5.Very basic breakfast options.
6. Wifi barely works.
7. Overpriced!
I’m hoping Eco can improve one day as it’s in a beautiful location!

AVOID ROOM 25.
What could've been a nice stay was ruined by our room being right next to a water tank that made so much noise all through the night we couldn't sleep, even with earplugs or noise cancelling headphones, it was so loud it made no difference. When telling the staff they said they'd look into it, but then said there was nothing they could do. They shouldn't have a room next to the water tank. 2 days of no sleep spoiled our time in el nido.
